Astrology is Real

Astrology is real.

It doesn’t matter whether you believe this is true, or whether you believe it to be pseudoscience. There is a verifiable correlation between planetary alignments and world events in the historical record.

Copernicus, 16th century. The last time we had a cosmological revolution of this scale.

A lot of the early experiments in attempting to seek an empirical basis for astrology were wrapped up in the trappings of the Newtonian-Cartesian paradigm. They required a simplistic, concrete and immediate correlation between astrological claims and statistical data.

The core issue with this from a scientific basis is the issue of “qualitative data”. Qualitative data is concerned with the element of depth, which does not always translate into volume of material factors. For example, there may have been a film which touched the soul of human artistic development, but another work of art with a more muted historical impact may have gotten more publicity in the moment.

There is also the issue of “multivalence”. Multivalence is the idea that there is a coherent occurrence of a certain phenomena from a psychological perspective, but there are a diverse range of phenomena in a material sense. The tenet of multivalence implies that there is a consistent energetic quality that can be seen to peak during astrological transits, but the material factors are diverse and punish any attempt to nail the phenomena down in a simplistic, mechanistic causality.

The very paradigm which breaks due to the reality of astrology is that of the Newtonian, mechanistic belief in how the world operates.

Remember we are taking about a new astrological paradigm which encapsulates the totality of all the mystery as cosmogenetic potential at the heart of our evolving story.

What happened last time may not happen again in precisely the same way, but the energetic core is maintained.

This brings up a final point—that of measurement. Human awareness is the only tool currently available to measure the depth and quality of psychological phenomena. One could again attempt to bring a reductionism here by strapping electrodes to the brain or measure pupil dilation. But if you inquire within honestly, what does that really have to do with the felt sense of beauty, or poetry, or spirit.

The astrological revolution is here. It is a well established path from Freud, Jung, Campbell, Grof, Tarnas, and now to our work with Numinous Realm and our first “application”—the cosmological art label Integrate This

The revolution is here, and it is the people’s revolution. Come join us!
